Candy Apple Red GTA w/ 428 Cobra Jet, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Automatic!
1967 Fairlane GTA Hardtop, owned by the selling family for 30+ years and restored over a 10 year span before being passed down from father to son. This true big-block Fairlane was restored in beautiful Candyapple Red and the originally optioned "S-Code" 390 Big block was upgraded to the legendary 428 Cobra Jet. The built 428 CJ features Edelbrock Performer RPM Aluminum Heads and Intake, Harland Sharp Rockers, and a Holley 750 CFM Double-Pumper Carburetor. It is shifted by a C6 Automatic 3-Speed Transmission and power is delivered to the road by a 9" rear end with HD "Nodular" case. It is stopped by Power Front Disc Brakes with drums in the rear and steering is power assisted to make cruising enjoyable.
The interior was completely restored as well and features black bucket seats with center console and has been upgraded with a period Sun Tachometer and Autometer gauge pack, a CD player was added in the glove compartment to maintain the original look of the interior. The upholstry, headliner and dash are in good condition with no observed rips or tears. Mileage is believed be 108,857 at time of listing, but the title is listed as mileage exempt.
The Candyapple Red paint shows well, with only minor flaws from occasional driving. The glass all appears to be original to the car and shows Carlite stamping with 1966 datecodes. The trim shows well with no major flaws. It rides on 15" Cragar wheels with radial tires. The car runs and drives well and is a blast to drive with the upgraded 428 Cobra Jet! Original VIN stamping is present on the core support, original warranty tag on driver's door and it's original configuration is documented by a Marti Report.
